DESCRIPTION

Cholera is a bacterial inflectional kind of disease that affects the small intestine. Its a serious killing disease found in several. Countries, most especially countries that are overcrowded and has poor sanitation. Cholera has caused thousands of death in the last century during widespread epidemics in many countries.

Cholera affects all group age categories without restricting any one. And it's not a disease prior to a certain sexes, but its a kind of bacterial infection that affects both sexes, be it a man or a woman.

Now this disease is sole minded by a causative bacteria named bacterium vibrio cholerae. And its is spread by drinking water by faeces of those affected by the disease, for clearer picture one gets infected, if you drink a water that contain the faeces of an already infected person. and also by flies landing on infected materials and then crawling on food. Countries that have cholera to be common must do well to treat their drinking water by either boiling or other purification method. And make preparation of food very hygienic.

SYMPTOMS AND INDICATIONS



The organ of the body affected is the digestive system, Which is actually the whole body, you are as good as nothing if your digestive system is bad, am sure you would want to pray for that. There is considerable variation in the severity of symptoms and in the manner in which they present themselves. In mild cases the patient may hardly feel I'll, while in other cases which is the severe case death may occur just as soon as you can never imagine.

3 STAGES OF CHOLERA.

FIRST STAGE

In the first stage, there is copious diarrhoea and vomiting, with the production of characteristic 'rice water stools' containing flakes and fabrin ( a protein substance formed in the blood during blood clothing). There are severe pains and cramps, extreme thirst and increasing dehydration and collapse.

SECOND STAGE

In the second stage death occur due to dehydration and collapse. The person's skin is cold and wrinkled, the eye are sunken, the pulse becomes imperceptible and the voice is a hoarse whisper (vox cholera).

THIRD STAGE

During the third stage the person starts to recover and gradually improve and the symptoms subside. Relapse is still possible at this stage, particularly in form of fever. A person with such symptoms should please see the doctor.

HEALTH TIPS

A patient should be properly isolated to avoid infecting others, and given scrupulous medical attention. This includes proper disposal of the body waste of the infected fellow, to prevent the wide spread of the disease.
Major treatment of an infected person includes bed rest and the use of tetracycline and sulphonamide medicine to kill the cholera bacteria.
Vaccination is a preferable option too. Also salt solution helps to counteract the dehydration that occurs, and this are taken by mouth or given intravenously.
